We Don't Know Your Name

"We don't know your name, but we know your case number. We are praying for you."

February until April: For the past months, our team of staff at YWAM Harbour City have been serving in new ways. Usually, our local outreaches would be more face to face. What would outreaches in the city look like now, when we cannot go out and meet people?

One morning during worship (by this time, it was the very beginning of COVID-19 and the cases in Hong Kong were not high), one of our leaders received the word from the Lord to do something called "E-Blessings". The following day, we continued pressing into God, hearing His voice and surrendering all of ourselves to receive creative ideas from Him.

Opportunities came up as we contacted with local ministers who were connected to local hospitals, so we were able to write and hand paint encouragement cards for patients of COVID-19. We prayed for each patient, by case number, since we did not know their name, but we knew that God knew each one of them more than anyone else. Serving as a team was amazing, every staff in their own gifting. Some of our staff served with new skills. We could see how the body of Christ is able to work together – the process of connecting with local ministries in Hong Kong, Christian friends that work at hospitals to hours of intercession, handcrafting each card with love and dedication to packaging the cards and driving them to our contacts.

As we are facing the third wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong, we are seeking God’s direction in how to continue reaching out and encouraging others in our city.
